Everyone always complicates Bulking. It's simple.
Your body needs a set amount of calories to stay the same weight. This is called your maintenance level. For me, at 180lbs ~14% bf and 5'11" it's around 3200 calories. If you eat above your maintenance level, you'll gain weight.
I've put on 7lbs in the past 14 days with relative ease.
How?
I found my maintenance level, and then ate more.
I always eat around my maintenence level every day.
What I did was added a full cup of oats, and half a gallon of chocolate milk.
This added a calories surplus of ~1500 calories a day.
Once i started to eat above my maintenance level, I gained weight.
That simple.
Obviously, you have to eat semi clean, adding 1200 calories above maintenance in the form of a large bag of chips everyday won't help you.
You have to still work out. Your body needs a good reason to turn the extra calories to muscle.
Give it that reason.
Keep up the intensity in the weightroom. Try for a PR every session. I don't care if it's a PR in reps, weight, or even in using less rest time.
Just do it.
Milk and oats are your friends. Drink a glass of milk and have a cup of oats in water when you wake up.
Have milk with lunch.
Have a glass before you go to sleep.
Grow.
Repeat.
I started lifting at 135lbs. 14 days ago i was 173lbs. I'm now 180lbs. In a month I plan on being at least 190lbs. Putting on weight is 50% diet.
Now go get big. |
